Quiz Quail ("we", "our", "us") is a web application that helps users create quiz videos and publish them to YouTube. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and password when you sign up.
• Google OAuth tokens: When you connect a YouTube channel, we store OAuth access and refresh tokens to upload videos on your behalf. We also store your YouTube channel name and ID.
• Quiz content: Questions, answers, rounds, themes, and settings you create within the application.
• Media uploads: Images, videos, and audio files you upload to use in quizzes.
• Usage data: Basic analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Quiz generation: Your quiz content is used to render video files and generate thumbnails.
• YouTube upload: When you choose to publish, we use your OAuth tokens to upload videos, set metadata, and manage uploads on your connected YouTube channel.
• AI features: When using AI quiz generation or metadata generation, your prompts and quiz content are sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini) to generate results. We do not use your content to train AI models.
• Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve the product.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Quiz Quail:

• Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and file storage.
• Google / YouTube APIs: YouTube channel connection, video uploads, and metadata management. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini (AI): AI-powered quiz and metadata generation.
• Vercel: Application hosting and serverless functions.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Quiz content, media uploads, and connected channel data are stored until you delete them or close your account. Rendered videos are stored temporarily and may be removed after 30 days.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete individual quizzes, media files, and disconnect YouTube channels at any time from within the application. To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token storage, and access controls. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are only used to perform actions you explicitly authorize.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can revoke YouTube access at any time by disconnecting your channel in Settings or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the application.
